Ken and others, I have a shot at a 2001 773G with under 400 hrs. Been garaged most of its life. Enclosed cab, heater. Unsure of hiflow hydraulics (is this standard or an option?). Any things to watch out for? I think the price may be around 17K US$, which seems a bit steep to me. But maybe that's OK for such low hours. What's the prevailing opinion out there? Feel free to email me directly if you think some of your comments would not be of general interest to all. ---Bob, [email protected]

Whats the going rate on these machines new? the S185 replaced that model?
I just wanted to know what the going price on the equivalent to a "7" series loader was.
I know a guy that bought a S300, it was around the AUD 70K mark with all the trimmings.

I have a 2001 500K model 773T (G-series) with about 700 hours on it. No problems mechanically, great running machine. I an the only operator, so I do take real good care of it and service regularly.
The battery might be getting old, if it hasn't been changed by now. I just changed mine a couple of months ago. Tires should still be good, mine are about 70% to 80%, but I work mostly in silty/loamy conditions. Ask for service records or see if the filters where changed when scheduled. Sometimes they write the date and hours on the filter after a change.
I was thinking of selling mine this year. My model is loaded with A/C, power Bobtach, Advanced Hand Controls, floatation tires, and the electronic information center. Here in Alaska I can fetch a premium and was thinking about $23,000. I found 2001 773 G models with just heat and low hours for about $17,500 down in the states.
Was this a turbo model? I run a 74" bucket with mine, a 68" bucket was standard with this machine. High flow was an option, but only with a turbo. Even then I heard it was underpowered.

I think that is enough, even though hours are exceptionally low. I'd be checking it over close to be sure I believed the hour meter. Pins should be 99% tight. should be no wear on seat or on hand grips.
Hi flow is a option, all loaders will have a button that say hi flow, but most don't have the option, but if you have a use for it and it is a hi flow it adds a several hundred bucks in resale at least.
I guess I got a good buy on my 00 773 (no turbo) with heat 1500 hours, western snow blade, bobcat pallet fork, 66" smooth bucket with bite bar and a 72" smooth. 14100 in fall of 04, figured 3 extra attachments worth 1500 to 2k.
But I bought no reserve it at online auction, and I was prepared to go just over 15k Someone else had it at 14 and I hit it right at the end and no one else was in there, so I guess I got a little lucky. But I took my chances and have no regrets.
I've put about 500 US back into it in the last 500 hours. Its a nice machine to use
I'm going to go on a limb and say 15K tops, with the low hours, because its 6 years old, and time takes the value away regardless of hours, but if your buying it to keep forever, the hours should be more important to you and the overall condition.
But your banker and the next buyer (if you sell in the near future) won't allow much for that. 17k sounds like a dealer price

I would make sure it is a turbo machine. I have used both and the turbo is the way to go on a 773.
