Hi, new to the forum, 1st post. here's my problem. We recently purchased a s250 in addition to our 743. well, i was messing with the functions in the panel, and, in the owner utilities i came across a function that asked, "do you wish to downgrade?", well since i was just sitting there waiting on the truck to get back, i pushed yes, and the machine shut off, and when i powered it back up, none of my passwords worked, now it's sitting in someone's driveway, and bobcat was closed when it happened, and they are closed tomorrow. i need some helpasap if anyone knows about this, please!!, i also removed the pos. side of the battery and anything else i could to reset the machine. thanx.

thank you very much, ill try it. ill let u know.
ok STuZ, you are awesome!!, thank you so much. Before I posted, my dad had called the guy we bought it from to see if he knew what was up, or if he would verify w/ bobcat where he bought it so that it go a little smoother to resolve our problem. well, we had to wait till today, because they are closed on the weekend. Needless to say, he called the salesman that sold him the machine and was told we needed to call our local dealer, set up a service call, produce our bill of sale when he arrives, and he would plug his laptop in to it and get us back up, for about a $2-300.00 service call. Not to mention down time waiting for them, and it was parked right where i needed to work, and our 743 wasn't pushing it out of the way. So, once again, thank you very much!!!! But i still don't know what the whole downgrade thing means anyway. But, thank you again, i owe you one.

Downgrading is turning off the options, such as Hi flow, auto bucket postioning etc. I don't know what options you have or what version your software is, but it might be worth the time to have your dealer install ver 42 and make sure everything is turned on.

That's an interesting thread, almost two years old, and I'd like to know if Stuz got his thingy whacked for giving that out.
A moderator should consider deleting this thread, IMO.

Downgrading the panel is used when going from a keyless panel to a standard keyed panel. I didn't think that options could be turned off through the panel. The only way I know of is to hook up the start box and go through the computer to adjust options.

Ok, i removed the code just in case, its probably a good idea so no one gets in trouble.
I don't know if the code is serial number specific or not, but i guess its best not to have a master code that could un-lock any machine with key-less start.
If I'm wrong, feel free to yell at me!

I had the same problem - when first fooling around with my S220 I screwed up the computer and none of the passcodes would work. I called the local dealer and they gave me the code over the phone. It took around 10 minutes. I believe the delay was so they could confirm it wasnt a hot serial number (corporate HQ maintains a list of hot serial #s). The master code is specific to the bobcat so posting the number doesnt do any harm unless someone happens to steal the original poster's S250, has read this thread, and realizes that the serial number is a match.
