Just checking to see how many hours others are getting out of a set of tires. Most of the used machines I see for sale have new tires on them by 1000 hours.
I am running Galaxy SuperFloat tires in a 31x13.5x16.5" tires on my 773. With 265 hours on my machine, I have about 75-80% remaining. I mostly work in clay/silty conditions and some gravel/rock. In the winter, I run chains on my tires so I'm sure they contribute to some of the wear. With a set of tires running $800-$1000, about a dollar a hour is being worn off the tires if my estimates are correct.
I am looking at a set of Galaxy (www.galaxytire.com) Hulk tires for my next set. These are 12 ply, 12x16.5" tires with a 44/32" tread. The tread pattern looks like a directional tread that would be self-cleaning in muddy conditions, yet long wearing because of the deep lug.

I have a all wheel steer that I,ve for six years. 3700 hrs.. In winter I use standred bobcat tires and in summer I use turf tires. There is still about 70% on both sets.

Any agricultural/flotation tire will wear fast on a skid steer because of the deeper lugs and wider spacing. Rocks and hard ground eat those up fast, and concrete/asphalt grinds the treads off quick. The less space between lugs the better for wear. Around here I have seen the 16 inch wide floatation tires wear out in as little as 500 hours. Since my machine is almost never used on pavement I have yet to wear out a set of tires. On the other hand if I could get a set of wide rims and some worn-out flotation tires for lawn use, I would be very happy. The more worn down the better!
