If purchasing a new machine, I would recommend getting the Gold Package. This package includes many of Bobcat's favorite option such as Heated cab (with Airconditioning on S185 and larger), deluxe instrument panel, suspension seat, Bobcat Heavy-Duty tires, and my favorite, the Power Bobtach Mounting system.
The heated/airconditioned cab is a necessity, IMHO, for all climates. I would not want to work without it in the winter time. In the summer, the airconditioning allow me to work longer without getting fatiqued and allow me to keep the door closed, which keeps dust and debris out of the cab. Visibility is not a problem with the curved windshield. The suspension seat also adds to operator comfort.
The Power Bobtach is by far my favorite. I allow me to change attachments quickly without ever leaving the operators seat. If digging gets tough, just drop my low profile bucket and pickup my tooth bucket. I also push over trees when clearing land. I use my tooth bucket to cut the roots on one side of the tree then push the tree over. Drop the bucket and attach the forks, then pickup and move the whole tree. Not having to stop and get out to change attachments really helps increase my productivity.
The deluxe instument panel offers increased security, by utilizing operator codes rather than a key. I also has a resetable job clock that I use to time jobs. There also seems to be additional functions available for hydraulically controlled attachments that I have not had the opportunity to use.
Any machine I purchase in the future is definately going to have the Gold Package.

I went gold with no regrets. I also am a big fan of the bucket control system. I have this on my Case 580SL and always hated that my 185 didnt have it. It automatically keeps the bucket level when raising. A must have when you load trucks often. My dealer doesn't normally order his stock in with this feature, but he should. It's inexpensive and quite a time saver. It was one reason I went with the t300 over the t190. His stock t300 had BCS.

I thought of adding the bucket leveling feature to my 773 when I was unloading pallets of crushed rubber from a truck. The 2200# pallets required constant adjustment to keep the forks level when raising and lowering. Dealer quoted me between $300-$400 to add this option to my skidsteer. Didn't think of it when loading trucks with my bucket. How does it work exactly?

It only works as you raise the bucket, not as you lower it. Basically, however you have the bucket set, it maintains that setting all the way up. You don't have to keep adjusting the level. It makes quick work of loading trucks.
