I have a Tomas 245hdk and having some hydro issues. I can tip the bucket down and it will pick up the front of the machine bucket when I let off the pedals the hydraulic leaks pack down. When I try to tip the bucket back up it will not even move on its own. I also do not have any aux. controls right now. when I turn the switch on and then hit the switch nothing happens. When I raise and lower the boom that all works. Does anyone have any ideas?

If all other functions still work it sounds like you may have an anti-cavitation valve that may have come loose and is plugging your line. Does the engine bog down a bit when you try and curl the bucket back? that or hear a whistle from your reliev valve like when you bottom out any of your cylinders?
These valves look sort of like a washer with slots and holes in them, they can be dis-lodged and sit at the openings of hydraulic fittings causing all sorts of problems. Not all machines have these fited though so this is just a guess. If its fitted it will be somewhere between the cylinder and control block. Yes i know that doesn't exactly limit the search does it?

Hi,
I have a T243 HDS. Its very similar to yours except the wheelbase is shorter. I can't find anyone who has a T243/T245, so I'm glad to find your question. Can you give me some info on your machine, please? I would like to know what kind of engine, how many hours, what year, any other issues, where do you live and where do you find parts/service.
Please let me know.
Thank you,
kroog

Kroog, Our machine has a Kubota engine in it about 90 h.p. has about 3500 hours and is a 2001. I am in colorado and the closest place that can get parts for me is roughly 60 miles from called i believe "Arvada rent-all" The place were we bought it no longer sells thomas and the last time i had them look at it they just created more problems. I have problems with some of the supposed "saftey devieces" not always working. Like they wnet lock out when they are suppose to or they will like up even when everything is done properly

Thomas has a dealer locator on their web site and also have the manuals (parts, owners and repair) for your machine on there that you can download (free). The website is www.thomas-equipment.com , once there you go to the resources tab at the top of the screen and select "technical Info" from the list which will take you to a page with a listing of the manuals. If you need any help drop me an email and I will see what I can do for you.
