Sounds like you had a run away. Not good. There could be many things that were damaged when that happened, including the timing belt skipping some teeth. I seriously doubt it was bad fuel. Run aways typically occur when a diesel engine is supplied by a secondary fuel source, like sucking up engine oil through a crankcase breather connected to the intake manifold or something like that. I don't know enough about your engine to hazard a guess where your coolant is coming from, but I would not rule out a head gasket. Early 751's came with the Pugeot engine (apparently later in production switching to the Kubota V1903), the similar 753 that came with a Kubota. I have heard of 751's being converted to the Kubota V2203, but this is not easy nor inexpensive. Good V2203's typically go for $2000 and up, plus you will need to locate the appropriate parts from a 753 to do the install, unless you have a machine/metal fab shop at your disposal and plenty of time. By the time you do this, you could likely rebuild your Pugeot. I have heard that parts for this engine are much more affordable and popular in the UK and Europe. HTH.
