Hi, Just bought an old jd24 skid and everything seems to work just great but the steering. It just won't turn. If I push or pull on both joysticks at the same time the machine goes forward and back just fine. When I push or pull on only the right joystick it goes forward or backward and slightly veers left. The left wheels runs freely. Same when I push or pull the left joystick. If I push or pull one joystick in one direction, and the other joystick in the opposite direction, the machine stalls immediately. I am assuming when I push or pull one joystick, the opposite wheels should lock and the machine turns right? And when I push the joysticks in opposite directions the machine turns in place with opposite wheels turning in opposite directions? Some clues: 1. when I release both joysticks, the machine rolls freely. So if I'm on an incline, it rolls backwards immediately with no resistance at all. 2. hydraulic fluid was drained, but dipstick shows full after only 10 gallons of fluid added when it should take 20 gallons. 3. lever that says 'fast, variable, slow' moves but goes back to variable right away, won't stay in position. 4. everything else runs perfectly. Any help would be much appreciated since I am a newbie at this. Thanx, Bruce
