I haven't found much clear information on this online: My Takeuchi Track loader Calls for 90w gear oil in the travel motors. Yet no one seems to carry that. 80w-90 is commonly available however. Yet the auto parts store guys said if it calls for straight 90w then I shouldn't use a range oil. When it comes to final drives is it worth paying 2x as much for synthetic? Or does it not really matter in that application? Reading it seems the finals get dirty/ moisture contamination before the oil breaks down so it does it matter. But it's a 10k part so... What are people using?

I think you've listed under BOBCAT specific skid steer machines, however, I would suggest calling your local dealership service department. I know that is most likely bot the answer you are seeking, but as you said..."they cost $10k!!"...So, why gamble on it?? The auto parts stores will not know $hit about your machine specs.

I moved your post to the Takeuchi section. Hopefully it will get some more visibility here.
