Checked ok. Checked ground from the sender terminal to the tank. Nothing (at half tank of fuel). Then took a jumper wire and clipped to the sender wire and to the starter. I did this a couple times out of amusement and amazement (yeah im that simple). I never saw them work before so I was glad to see them working correctly. And I like when my machines are working as they were from new. Drained the tank low enough that the sender was removable and pulled the sender. Checked the senders resistance and it showed infinite. After looking at the winding closer you could see numerous broken wires and a nice coating of a scummy dirty substance. Just seeing that makes me decide that I need to change the fuel filters. I havent changed them since I bought the machine 14 months ago. Prob way overdue. SO, Thanks Goose for youre great advice! You helped immensely! Frank
OK, first thing I did was remove the wire back off the plug to make sure the wire wasnt broken and to make sure I had the right wire. Checked ok. So I reinstalled everything on the control panel and checked ground from the sender housing to the starter to be sure. Checked ok. Checked from the sender housing to the fuel tank. Checked ok. Checked ground from the sender terminal to the tank. Nothing (at half tank of fuel). Then took a jumper wire and clipped to the sender wire and to the starter. SURE ENOUGH the LED's went off to the lowest level and the bottom one was flashing for low fuel. Unhooked the wire and they went back on. COOL! Frank
