I've got the motor sitting in the machine and mostly hooked up but other projects are getting done at the moment. Based on the motor mount swap, I'd say these machines were designed to take a 3 or a 4. Here is the quick run down to install a 4 where a 3 came out. Move the rear motor mounts left to right. There are two sets of holes in the block, use the ones that give you the same mount spacing as the 3.__________________________________________________________________ The replacement engine needs to have a timing cover that has a pump mount, ( my replacement did ) if not reuse your cover. Also swap the crank pulley, mine had metric threads and the 1835 had inch.________________________________________________________________ Use a smaller diameter oil filter to clear the rubber motor mount cushion. ( small filter from a mid 90's Dodge Spirit with a 2.5 engine ) Install the oil cooler too.__________________________________________________________________ Water pump may need to be changed due to fan height / pulley diameter. I'm not sure of fan distance, mine was missing the factory rad and I'm reusing the forklift rad._________________________________________________________________ Re use your throttle linkage to the governor, forklifts have a max speed gov where the skid has constant speed gov.__________________________________________________________________ If the exhaust manifold does not exit up you will need to make some pipes/muffler mount.________________________________________________________________ Use your original dip stick tube, plug the forklift one.__________________________________________________________________ Forklifts are a good source for a TM27 . Mine came out of a HALLA brand ( Korea ) Clark is another source. Were you selling your machine on Cragslist? I came across one that had the same block problem.
