Does anyone have any brief instructions to remove the Deutz from my 864 without the hydraulic pump or removing tracks and all that? I've looked everywhere but cannot seem to find anything. I recall an article where someone said it was possible. Also - when purchasing rebuild kits - where is the best place? My machine has 6700hrs on it but I'm not ready to fully retire it yet. It still runs extremely well but it blew an intake gasket and could probably use a good rebuild.

Thanks for your help.

I've pulled a few out before, gotta tell you it wasn't fun.

Yes you can pull the engine without the pump, I tried it both ways seems to be easier to leave pump in

1. Battery and tray removal
2. Remove belt cover and belt
3. Remove air filter assembly
4. Drain coolant
5. Disconnecting all engine wiring
6. Disconnecting all lines - coolant/fuel
7. Removing engine mounts

That list should get you started, I've purchased rebuilds kits from ebay before and had great success with over 3k hours still running strong

Hope this helps
