Bought my first bobcat, 731 w/ Deutz 511. The biggest problem it has is the bucket drifts down. The problem is in the valve. Someone posted it would be easier to remove the engine and looking it over I agreed. Am I glad I decided to do that. Found the throttle linkage rods almost completely worn through. The oil cooler was completely blocked with crud, about and 1" thick! I have a couple of questions if anyone can help. The throttle arm on the engine moves all the way to idle/off but when I move it towards full throttle it will not move all the way towards the stop screw. It feels like it is contacting a spring because it moves a little once it hits whatever it it hitting. Have not checked this when the engine is running, this could be normal? The lever does move freely and easily springs back. The hydraulic pressure and temperature switches are missing. I cannot find the ratings for these in the manual. Anyone have any idea what these items should trip at? When first started cold it wants to creep forward a bit. Once it warms up it doesn't creep at all. Is this just thick oil or should I go through the linkage adjustments? The levers are both contacting where they need to.
