After talking to the local Bobcat mechanic, he said he wouldn't worry too much about it as long as it tracks straight when driving it and doesn't whine in neutral because of a partial engagement of the pintle lever on top of the pump. I guess I would say it greatly improves the more RPM's you have it set at. At full throttle, its hardly noticeable. My thinking is these older machines just need more RPM's to get enough fluid from the pump to run the drive motors. It doesn't moan or whine at all at low RPM's standing still when running just the lift and tilt. This leads me to believe its not the pump necessarily. The other thing too is the newer machines have quite a bit of sound suppression padding inside the cab which helps with sound from the hydraulic bay beneath the cab too. Mine being an 04, has zero sound suppression. So unless something grenades, changes performance, and sound, I am going to chalk it up to the nature of the machine.
I have replaced the hydraulic filter and while I was at it, I replaced the case drain filters too then topped off the fluid. All filters and fluids are Bobcat brand. Thanks for your reply.
