It appears to be an issue with the Auto-Shutdown safety system. It first runs for 30 seconds and shuts down. Subsequently it runs only for about 5 seconds. If you leave it for a little while, it will run for 30 second first up again, and starts the 5 second cycle afterwads. No warning light...
