    743 Fixer Upper

I think for sure the rings and cylinders are shot. Out of curiosity I tried to crank it today and got nothing. The compression is gone. Im gonna get a hold of bobcat and see what a rebuild will cost. Ill post the details up when I get them.

    743 Fixer Upper

Well I fired her up today to move something around the shop and she smoked like a steam engine. After that it lost power and pretty much wont move without bogging down to an idle. So the engine is shot. What to do now?

Ran it for a little bit today and it blows quite a bit of smoke out of the blowby and drips oil about every 5-10 seconds. I assume the rings are shot? It does run good once I get it cranked but still runs hot. Brand new thermostat and I flushed and refilled the system.

    New project...bobcat 610, with pictures!

Those old 610s are sought after by beekeepers. They would put a clark vertical mast on them and a "fifth wheel" Great lightweight machines for moving pallets of bees and honey. Found this one. http://aplacey.freewebspace.com/indexhs.htm Pretty good deal if you want a vertical mast machine

    743 Fixer Upper

Bought an old 80's 743. Not sure of the exact year. I am a beekeeper and already have a 751. But this 743 has a vertical mast on it. Makes it far easier to see the bee pallets and load them on trucks in the dark. There are a few issues I need to get fixed. First, that thing starts terribly. I...
