    BOBTACH

It never ceases to amaze me that people leave their buckets on for so long that the pins rust solid. I change attachments at least once a day. Sometimes three or four times a day. That's what the Bobtach is for. Grease and lots of it is always the answer when it comes to Bobcats.

    loading backhoe attachment onto trailer

Yes it will tip forward. Unsafe? I guess that depends on your definition of the word. I always load my 185 with the 811 backhoe forward because I don't like the feeling loading it backward. Try it. What's the worst that could happen? :D

    Hydrulic bucket locking release

Good plan, do the simple fixes first. Question: How can deadheading the hyd stytem hurt anything? Isn't that what pressure relief valves are for?

    Hydrulic bucket locking release

The power Bobtach takes it hyd pressure directly off the pump so, really, only about three things could be wrong. The pump itself could be bad but if your other functions are fine then that is probably no the problem. The control valve on the pump may have a problem or the cylinder itself may...

08' S185 Fault M0509- Hydraulic Charge Pressure Low

Start changing filters. Both hyd filters to start. If the engines bogging down change the fuel filter and air filters. Check hyd pressure by plumbing a gauge into the aux hydraulics. Do all that and then come back and ask again.

    853 boom up issues

If you managed to weld the case on a hyd pump and get it to work again without major machining then you are the best welder and hydraulic mechanic guy in the world. Your pump is shot. Your pressure test shows it clearly.

S185 Traction Lock intermittently locks out

The ground wire is hardwired to the coil so the unbolted cab shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like the hold circuit in the coil is failing. Check the resistance in the coil. There are three wires going to the solenoid, one is open, one is hold and the other is ground. Can't remember which is which...

    S185....Booms goes down very slowly

It turns out it was the linear actuator for the lift circuit. A little bit of laptop work by the mechanic and some contortions and 1 1/2 hours later I was mobile. Nothing to it, until I get the bill.

    S150 Charge Pressure Shutdown

My S185 is doing something similar. When I lower the boom I get the three beeps of death, the lift and tilt valve BICS light goes out and it sets the code, "Failed charge pressure solenoid". The Bobcat mechanic is coming tomorrow to plug in his laptop and make sure that is what the problem is...

    Hydraulic oil level ???

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Anywhere in the glass or even a little above or below is good. Lift the cab and look in the top of your hyd tank if you are really concerned. Why do you think your hyd oil is foaming anyway?

    S185....Booms goes down very slowly

I have a 2008 S185 and over the last few days I have noticed problems with the boom being very erratic, hard to feather and now today, boom goes up but only comes down very slowly, sometimes only with a few tries. It does this with both the hand and foot controls. The Aux will operate...

Bobcat over tire tracks vs others

Can't comment on Bobcat OTT tracks but stay away from the Brushcat. Far too light for my liking. If all you are cutting is grass and shrubs you'll be fine but if you want to cut brush, small trees etc, you will be fixing things.

How cold? - Coldest temperature for operations

Okay, that's a lot better deal than the last one I saw. Less than half the price of one from Williams Machinery. I live in Telkwa. About 12 hours south of Whitehorse via Hwy 37.

How cold? - Coldest temperature for operations

Yes, they do. Did you check out their shipping costs to northern Canada? I might as well buy it from my local dealer.

How cold? - Coldest temperature for operations

I shut down operations around -25 to -30C too. It seldom snows around here at that temperature anyway. Too easy to break something. Speaking of breaking things, be careful when pushing snow up into pile. I have had frozen chunks come over the back of the bucket down on the windshield. Those...
