On my E26, it was four bolts. Two under the floor mat and two behind the seat.

How about getting longer bolts for the radiator cover and adding spacers to move it away from the radiator? An inch might be a big help with airflow.

Back to the original subject. The bulb on my ‘84 743 was hard and starving the engine of fuel. It was fill of sediment. I removed it from the line as I have a 12v Facet pump in line that takes care of priming
