When do you change engine oil?

Diesel engines produce soot which turns the oil black relatively quickly. This doesn't necessarily require an oil change. If you ever have oil analysis done you will find that the oil can be very black with soot and still be in an acceptable PPM level for soot. Some over the road truckers using...

How steep of a slope can a T300 handle?

Also, I always use my 4in1 bucket on really steep slopes. They are a lot heavier than the normal buckets (I have a John Deere 78" 4n1 that I modified - holds a yard of material and weighs 1250lbs empty). The extra weight and the fact that you can dump dirt without raising the bucket really make...

How steep of a slope can a T300 handle?

I have found there are no problems with the engine power or proper oiling etc when on slopes that steep. However, I have found that you must have the hydraulic tank full to prevent air in the lines.

How steep of a slope can a T300 handle?

Eric, I nevered turned a CTL on a slope that steep. The way I would tackle a job like this is grade downhill leaving the spoils in a row about 20 feet away from the wall at the bottom. I would then back down below the spoils (leave a slot to get through the first time) and pick up the spoils and...

How steep of a slope can a T300 handle?

I don't think you should have a problem. When I demoed a T300 I used it on a slope that I think was about 1 to 1 and had no problems (I didn't measure it). I currently have a S250 with the Loegering VTS tracks on it and I work pretty steep slopes here in California all the time. The only problem...

    tires to tracks

The tracks are working great. I probably have 400 - 500hrs on them now with absolutely no problems. There is the normal small nicks etc. in the tread, but I would say they are wearing very well. I keep checking my track tension and have yet to make an adjustment. I am thinking that this confirms...

    VTS versatile track system

I have had a set on my Bobcat S250 since late last December. I love them. They have already paid for themselves because I have had many jobs I would not be able to do without them. I have had no problems in about 400 hours. The tracks are wearing exceptionally well. I only use them in dirt; I...

    Questions about Loegering VTS

You are right. The weights are about $300 and install on the rear. If you want the extra 6hp, you can buy the injectors for about the same price and they are very easy to install. I have never found a need for the 6 hp. You can always change injectors if you decide you need more hp.

    Is 2-speed option worth it?

I definitely like mine and it works well with the ATS system. You can really cook along with a full bucket and the suspension of the ATS system helps a lot at speed. I just don't turn when in hi gear. It might also be an advantage when plowing snow - just don't hit anything hidden in the snow at...

    Questions about Loegering VTS

I did some homework before buying my S250 and found out the only difference between the S250 and S300 is a weight kit and injectors; every thing else is identical (same frame, body, engine, hydraulics, etc.). Some of the S300 weight kit is in the rear door and makes working on hills harder due...

T190 or over the tire tracks?

I had (still have, but want to sell) the open bar Grouser tracks. They are excellent in mud and regular dirt. They fell short in sandy conditions and there is a lot of that around where I work. I was always taking them on and off because of it. I have yet to take my VTS system off. The VTS...

T190 or over the tire tracks?

I have an S250 and used Grouser over the tire tracks. I now have the Loegering VTS system. It is awsome. I have a friend that wants them for his S185 so I called the Loegering Rep and asked when they would be available. He said he heard that they would announce them as available at the ConExpo...

    Jobsite stories

Recent rains in California have caused quite a few equipment disasters. There is a road near where I live that is just above a lake and leads to 4 homesites. I usually grade this road in the spring time to remove the winter rain damage. This area got over 20 inches of rain in a recent storm and...

    strange weird and interesting

For me the most fun jobs are designing and building motocross and bmx courses. I have built a couple of mx courses for private individuals on really hilly property. This always makes it extra fun and challenging. I have had a few real close calls.

    tires to tracks

I have had the Loegering VTS tracks on my S250 for about 3 weeks now and love them. I used Grouser over the tire tracks before the VTS. In my opinion the VTS system is far superior to the over the tire tracks in several ways - much better traction, much better stability, suspension, non marking...
