    Repowering a Bobcat 720

All i had to do to mine was open the center hole in the stock bobcat flywheel to fit over the toyota crank. They both had the same bolt pattern to bolt together. With that fitting everything was square.mine was a 542b. The extra weight of the engine makes the bobcat lift the front tires off the...

    Bucket safety

Hello,I have a 542b and was wanting to work around it in the up position, but I was worried about the hydralics dropping. I have seen parts laid over the extended cylinder arms ,so the cylinder stays out. Has anyone got pictures of parts installed or how to make them .thanks for your help.

    new tires

my tires are rotting out. I replaced one with a new one, now I want to put on another one. I would guess that both should be on the same axle. don't know if it should be on the front or rear. I think working in dirt should give enough slippage the tire height should not matter.

    heated door glass

you use to be able to buy kits that you could install on the back window to give the rear window defrost. dont know why it would not work for you.

    Log Splitter Types

hi, i built my log splitter using a 8" i beam. i drilled my bucket so i could bolt the cylinder end of the splitter to the bottom of the bucket. that way the splitter is sticking out horizontal, so i can stand beside it and split out of a pickup or angle the bucket vertical and roll the big ones...

    safety bar

have a 542b, safety bar wont stay up. does anybody have an illustration of how the pivot parts go together. thanks , also the back side of the bar is worn flat, thought maybe i needed to build it round so the piece rubbing it would go over center.

    hydraulic force

i took off the splitter and made sure the auxillary stick was centered and now it works. so i will not think about it until it quits again, then i will give a few choice words and think about it again. thanks

    hydraulic force

well, i went with a 4inch ram from surplus center, according to the chart ,almost 2 1/2 times force than my other cylinder had, worked great. now i want to know more about how my machine works. when using the auxillary hydraulics to operate the log splitter, does it put out full pressure at idle...

    hydraulic force

thanks people, looks like problem solved.

    hydraulic force

yes, parallel. my bore is 2.5 and rod is 1.25. so sticking those numbers in and using 1000 psi it figures 4900, if i run both its only 9800. if i buy a 4inch it figures 12500. i dont know what a log splitter usually has for pressure. now the hard part , do i save money and use both or buy the big...

    hydraulic force

thanks. now another question, i have another cylinder like the one i am using, what if i stacked both of them so both applyed pressure to the log at the same time, since there are two cylinders acting together, do i multiply or add pressures to achieve a split log.
