Re: 1997 Bobcat 331 parts machine or not? 4/10/2013 9:28:41 AM   (Total replies: 1)

What are you looking to get out of the machine?  I might be interested, I live over by Lafayette.

Money is tight ATM, but we might be able to work something out.

I would do cartwheels to have a 3k final drive.  Just put one on the 341, bobcat wanted $5,900.00.

Re: 341 Loosing Function 2/6/2013 11:32:38 AM   (Total replies: 1)

I found the issue.  It was the main display panel (which is also the computer on this machine).  $1k later the machine runs better than it ever has.

The combination of all the symptoms with no signs of wire chaffing or damages, and the fact I replaced the speed sensor and it still said the motor was running 7800 rpm led me to roll the dice on a computer.  It worked instantly and now I am back in business.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

341 Loosing Function 2/1/2013 9:40:26 AM   (Total replies: 1)

So, still chasing the source of the mysterious engine code 06-18, but a bigger issue is presenting itself.

The machine appears to have good power in all ranges, but for some reason at times looses functionality of the joystic controls.  The drive motors still function, and the aux ports, but the joysticks go dead.  If you pick up the left stick assebly and put it back down it will most of the time reset, but the other day it took ten minutes to reset itself.  ...

Re: 341 Engine Code 1/27/2013 3:48:49 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Engine speed out of range is what the book on the machine says too.  I inspected the sensor and found it had been pinched by the battery, which was not properly secured.  I replaced the sensor, no change.  Anyone have any other thoughts?

341 Engine Code 1/10/2013 2:44:58 PM   (Total replies: 1)

I have a 2003 Bobact 341 that has code 06-18 stored.  It runs like a million bucks, when it runs.  Periodically, it will be very hard to start, requiring several cranking sessions to fire off.  Something is causing the fuel stop soleniod not to power up.  Have already replaced the solenoid with a new one from the dealer.

There is also an intermittent alarm on the display.

Could the hard start be related to the code?  Also, what do I ...

Melli, first off, as others have said that is one clean machine.

Now, I am curious, where is your battery.  I am new to my machine, and the battery is right below the starter and I think has rubbed on the speed sensor and is causing some of my issues.  There is no battery box and no hold downs.  I see from your photo, that the battery on your machine does not appear to be in the same spot. Where is yours?

Its a 2003 341.  I was wondering if that was the spot.  It is the only area on mine big enough to hold a battery, but I don't see any clamps or trays it would have set in.  Looks like a real pita to get to too.

Mine does the same thing and it drives me batty.  I was just gonna hit it with the mig.  I wasn't gonna pull it off though.  Pop a tack on it right where it sits, just disconnect the battery cables before you do it.

Fleet Tracker 6/8/2011 9:24:23 PM   (Total replies: 1)

I am interested in putting a geotracker (gps unit) on my S130 and am interested if anyone has any input or experiences with a particular vendor for this.  My company uses fleetmatics for its vehicles and has worked well so far, but this is my personal equipment and is just one unit, so getting the price break that we would normally get from 30+ units isn't applicable for me.

If anyone could recommend someone that deals well in single unit contracts that would be ...
