we are complete rookies with skid steer knowledge, so I am asking, what should we be looking for in a used machine? Our needs are hobby farm / large acreage related. we will need to have an auger, blade and back hoe attachments. how does one tell how hard the unit has been worked? I gather something in the gpm of 12-15 should run the acces. but in the 10-13k range is does any unit have a better rep than another? out property has alot of rolling hills, so something that could handle this terrain ...

what are the general opinions on this machine for farm / large rolling acreage use. I see it's slow, but if the price is right? I prefer to purchase a machine once and once only, but I am looking for used with low hours. Will need it to run an auger, either a blower or blade, but be able to dig to some degree and move medium size rocks.

The more I looked into this model, I have to agree, a bigger machine would suit our needs better. It does sound like a neat machine for lighter type work. I also have decided a track loader is probably the way to go with our rolling hills and sandy loom. Going to look at a cat 247b tomorrow with avs. Thx for your input, much appreciated.
