Thread size on hydraulic breather cap Bobcat 610? 11/2/2012 4:40:12 PM   (Total replies: 2)
I'm away from my machine but am trying to line up the parts I need to adapt an attachment. Can anyone check the thread size where the breather cap screws into the top of the hydraulic reservoirs) where you pour in hydraulic fluid). I'd be very grateful. You can give me the NPT size, the ID of the threaded opening in the case, the approximate OD of the part that screws in, or any variation. (FYI, I am planning to plumb in the case drain line from a hydraulic motor for a fan attachment.) Thanks.

Got my answer. 3/4 NPT.

Bottom cap on fuel filter assembly 743/843, drain plug? 9/23/2012 3:24:37 PM   (Total replies: 1)
What's supposed to be on the bottom of the fuel filter assembly? On mine, something seems broken off and there's a small constant drip. Is it a plug, a valve, and when is it used? Is it used for draining water, or is it to drain fuel when changing the filter? I don't want to take the unit apart until I have everything I need lined up to put it back together again. I do have a new filter cartridge ready. If you know the specs on the bottom thing (e.g., thread size), maybe I can get a generic ...

Drip from bottom of fuel filter, 843 9/14/2012 6:29:30 AM   (Total replies: 0)
I have a slow drip from the hole at the bottom of the fuel filter assembly. My parts manual says there is supposed to be a wing plug there with a washer, but my service manual discusses a push in poppet valve to occasionally drain water. Can anyone clarify what I need? Perhaps one of the manuals never acught up with the other. I have a later model: 24337. If I can put in some kind of temproary plug, can someone tell me the thread specs so I don't screw up the threads in the unit. Hard to see ...

Need width of V-belt on 843 9/7/2012 6:17:51 AM   (Total replies: 3)
Need to replace belt today on my 843 with Isuzu diesel, but no bobcat dealers within reach stock part (6655314). Belt is so badly worn that I'm not sure of width and would like to get as close as possible from NAPA, who can't cross reference number. Could anyone kindly measure the width for me? THANKS. Length would be helpful too, but I don't want to impose on anyone since I can adjust alternator.

I went with an 11/16 wide belt from NAPA. It's not one of the standard sections as far as I can see. The original is still a little bit wider, but the fit on this one seems pretty good.

Seat bar won't stay up -- older Bobcat 843 4/30/2011 6:06:12 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Before I start dismantling things, could someone tell me how the seat bar mechanism is supposed to latch in the up position when the machine is not in use. Mine had been working, but now it won't stay up. I'm wondering if something is worn too far. I see the parts in the parts manual but can't find any mention of it in the service manual, although maybe I'm missing that section. Not sure how that flat triangular piece of metal is supposed to move. Thanks.

Thanks so much for these details and the idea of changing sides.

Bobcat 843 battery runs down 7/27/2010 2:34:38 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I recently bought an early 843, and there's some kind of small electrical leak that causes the battery to run down, so I have to disconnect the battery if the machine is going to sit for more than a couple of days. I'd like to get to the root of the problem and can gradually work my way through various circuits, but i thought I would ask here whether anyone has solved a similar problem or knows of a common place where a component of insulation may tend to fail. That would let me focus my ...

Re: Bobcat 873 Bucket Level Switch 4/25/2010 5:29:07 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Where is this switch located and what does in look like? I just got an older 843 and am trying to learn about it. It's a pain that it doesn't work going down, especially with something on forks. Thanks.
