bobcat intermittent hydraulic problems

Hello a friend of mine has a 97? (3 I think ) with a shear on it, He can shear with it all day with it no troubles , he put in a gauge in the pressure line going to the shear 2100 psi , The next time he uses it might work for 1 hr then pressure drops 1200 psi , parks it next time works perfect. any one have any ideas ?? Just how hot is the machine when these readings are taken?
The hoter the oil is, the thinner it will be. If the main pump is worn, when the oil is thick it can give a good pressure, but as it warms up, it by-passes giving lower pressures. See if that matches when the pressure readings are being taken.
There is a possibility the relief is an issue too, but i thought hot or cold, they maintain the pressure pretty well.
