Hello, I have a 2012 T650 Bobcat, Just wondering whats the best hydraulic oil to use, Bobcat dealer is at least an hour away so I'm looking for an oil I can get at a local parts store. I live in Florida, so temperatures will be from 30to95 degrees Fahrenheit. Thank you.

Is the machine still under any kind of warranty? If it is any fluid other than the Bobcat brand will void it for hydrostatic/hydraulic items.
As far as recommending a substitute for the Bobcat fluid there are many different opinions. I've used universal tractor fluid or AW 32 hydraulic fluid over the last 8 years with no problems. Some people use engine oil but Bobcat stopped recommending that a few years back because changes to the additives.

If you have a cenpeco oil dealer in your area the hydraulic oil they have meets the specs of the bobcat oil. I had the same situation and the local dealer delivered it to my house. I agree with the warranty, if it is still under warranty you would have to use bobcat oil.

Its not under warranty, We use a Warren AW 68 in our other brand of machines, just wondering if that would work?

im sorry to rant and rave, but how could even possibly consider anything but OEM. 120 bucks worth of oil . versus a 15000 repair heard of ups?

I read your criticism of non oem oil with interest. I know that Bobcat doesn't make oil, so why wouldn't an oil of like Specifications be satisfactory. I too have looked for an alternative and found an oil that my Chevron jobber researched as the same. It's not that I'm apposed to spending a couple bucks more, it's just that not all of us have a bobcat dealer nearby.

I concede youre point. yes if proper research done. sounds like you have done it? I went thru it when drive motor hub oil was what 75 bucks a pint we found direct replacement options so yea rock on . but keep in mind that jimmy joe blow is going to tractor supply. not sayining they don't know what they are doining. just saying that a trashed hyd sys due to improper lubricants, pretty much sucks ass. seen it a 331 burnt oil was not pretty. 45.000 exv was a boat anchor. due to after market oil. so yes you got game, can do the research, youre good. but prior to posting keep jimmy joe blow in mind
