was wondering what parts will actually interchange between a M444 and M500/600. (cylinders: drive sheaves; rims; bucket; ect.) I know they are similar but not sure what actually works.
A friend of a co-worker has a machine with a blowed Onan in it (I'm assuming must be a 444) that the Governess wants rid of. Can probably pick up cheap, but don't need it around if nothing will fit on mine.
I need a tilt cylinder pretty badly, and thinking a set of inflatable tires might be nice (have solids)

The 444, 500 and 600 all use the same new tilt cylinder part number 6531681.
I didn't look at any other parts to see if they crossover.

If you can get it cheap enough it is a very good investment. Many of the parts are interchangeable to your machine. There were/may be some variations….tapered jackshaft vs straight, braced variable speed sheave (on some), # of teeth on axle drive gears (careful with that one) are possible examples. If you have the time…parts that don't match to your machine or you'll never need, place on e-bay and you will pay for the machine. It can work out very well for you.

Thanks to both of you for the quick responses.
The tilt cylinder is my main concern at this time. I have a parts manual for the 500 and 600 but doesn't list the 444.
Was thinking I could probably sell what I don't need or want and come out OK if he doesn't want too much.
Most likely won't do anything till after the first of the year.
Have to be sure to keep my governess happy too!

Got it bought for about the price of a new cylinder!
Rims look good and tires have some life left in 'em. All worn about same.
Motor runs, but has carb/gov. issues. Has been pulled.
Small bucket; rough but usable.
Between it and mine should make 1 nice machine with plenty of left over parts.
Driveway very icy where its at, so need to wait for a good thaw to get it home
