I have a 1996 873 bobcat...engine #BF 4M 1011 F. I have discovered what is causing the motor to shut off. They call it the cable harness which is plugged to the interconnect cable which is plugged into the shutdown device or fuel shutoff solenoid. This cable harness has a 2 wires going into a square block that has 3 terminals inside the block. It then has 2 wires coming out that goes into the interconnect cable. The interconnect cable pn# is 04213069 and they want $42 for this simple cable. The cable harness is $96. The internal 3 terminal block is all corroded and really no way to salvage due to the rust and corrosion. Finally to my question. Why couldn't I just do without the cable harness and wire the 2 wires that go in to it, directly to the 2 wire interconnect cable? I wish I knew how to post the pics because it would make more sense about what I am trying to explain. If anybody knows what I am talking please pipe in with any advice. TIA

I ended up removing what they call the cable harness and wired it directly to the shutoff solenoid. This fixed my problem. This connection is just a connection that is suppose to be water proof which certainly wasn't. Water leaked into the connection and caused a intermittent connection to the shutoff solenoid. The parts to replace this connection were $96 for cable harness(the connection) and $42 of interconnect cable. I fixed by wiring directly!

you need to clear this up for the other dudes deutz fuel shut off solonied about 600 bucks yes they have been known to fail not often but enough. thereby they have been updatedet they come with instructions if you don't read them you smoke the 600 bucks. parts dude will not take a return . after all he did hand you inst ructions . they come in the box with new solenoid, so yea if if can understand that they reversed the polarity and incocoprpated a didiode to prevent voltage spikes, rock on with youre bad self. or hey my 863 wont start, I believe its the fuel shut off solenoid. sorry dude the solenoid is stuipid expesivne and you need read the directions. and you need this 40 dollar harness but its my experience and that of my techs that this should solve youre issue. . or reengineer?
