L175 chain case oil

I am gonna do a look over on the skiddy in the next couple of days. The owners manual says to check the chain case oil at the recessed plug between the wheels. The manual calls it the drain plug. My question is is this correct because it seems like it is very low on the tank? T-R

The low plug is the oil level. The drain plug is on the bottom of the chain case next to the front wheel.
