The pump for the left side drive is toast. Its the pump closest to the engine. (There are 3 pumps in a row). The mechanic said Bobcat only sells new pumps, no rebuild kits or rebuilt pumps. So I am looking for a rebuild kit or rebuilt pump or used pump. Ideas?

Loaderpartsource...........
They are $1800+ for a reman pump (+ core). Is a used pump worth considering? Can one get parts for the pump to rebuild it? I got a reman engine for my 2001 Jeep for the same price. Just seems high.

Hope you get the right guy very helpful there seems to be one lazy one
There is a place called finaldriveparts.com. They have a special for doing both motors for one price, shipping included. If you go on YouTube, they have a number of videos showing what is involved in rebuilding the motors.

I contacted them and will hopefully get a reply on Monday. They seem mostly into drive motors. This is a drive pump. In this Bobcat there are three pumps in line connected to the engine. The one closest to the engine does the left side, the next one does the right side and the one farthest from the engine does the bucket. Of course there are contaminants now in the hydraulic fluid that will need to be flushed out.

Have you taken the pump apart yet? There is not a whole lot to them and possible you could rebuild it yourself if you go slow and keep everything in order and very clean.

I have a mechanic who is moonlighting doing the work. But there are things that are worn in the pump and need replacement. Bobcat does not sell any parts, only new pumps.

Have you checked with Loader parts source? Other guys have replaced just the rotating group and wear plate. When I did mine I could have bought the wear plate for 200 online.

LPS has put parts online for me that were not shown on their website and if they are still making the part they can get it.

The issue with these pumps is there is no wear plate, the casting the rotating group runs on is super hard but does wear over time. I spoke with LPS a while ago about this and they had the ability to get someone to build up the worn spots, harden then grind it back, or they were in the process of getting someone to do it.
If your pump is worn like this, can you see if you can find a shop to grind it flat for you?
If the wear is not really bad, i'd get it ground the few thou to get teh marks out, get a new set of rotating groups and see how you go. I'd like to think you would not take to omuch material off to remove the hardening.
