Hey guys, Just sold my L455 and bought a L555. Love the extra bucket capacity the stronger engine and heavier machine, but was a little disappointed how it handled pushing snow today. My questions are: 1)What are others impression of the L555's performance in snow? 2)Does anyone run their L555 with chains and did you need to put spacers on? 3)Does anyone know of an aftermarket enclosure that fits the L555? I see the ones that Northern tool and other places offer, but none list one for this machine.

If you are close to a Wal-Mart they have a heavy clear vinyl in the fabric section that works to cover the sides of the cage. If I remember right it cost about 10 bucks and some gorilla tape to cover my 665 and it lasts for a few years.

The one type of inclosure was a soft front window with a zipper and was fastened on with snaps. The side curtains fasten on with snaps also. At one time I had 2 of these in the tube that they came in. I put one one one of my machines and I had trouble ith the windows fogging up. I went to harbor freight and bout a electric heater that had a fan on it and wired it in which took care of that. If at all possible go with a hard front window as you can see out of it better. As for chains I know of one person that put them on and they did not use spacers He clamied they worked fine but chewed up the paint a little. When you push snow you have to make sure that your bucket leaves all the weight of the machine on the grouns. I have moved 2 foot at a time with mine with no problem

I cant really help you with the enclosure question but as for the tire chains I bought a set from my local New Holland dealer last year and they work great!! My driveway is mostly hill and no more spinning! I have a L175 and there is no clearance problems. But if you have any loose links just wire them to the main part of the chain or the can fly around and rub. T-R
