I have a lx865. Was running fine when parked a week ago. Went out this morning to back it off the trailer. It was a chilly morning here in sc. Waited for the count down to start it and it fired right up. I let it warm up for a few mins then went to throttle it up and nothing happend. If you shut it down open up the throttle and fire it up. It will run at wot for a min and throttle down without moving the controls. Not sure what is going on. It is a lil low on fuel but that has never bothered it before. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. No codes or strange idiot lites are on at this time thanks fellas I hope yall can help me figure it out.

Might be water in the water separator, open the valve and warm with a hair dryer unless you have a new one handy. Change the fuel filter also.

Thanks fellas I will give it a try. Like I said it was fine a week or so ago. Then just started acting like this when I fired it up to back off the trailer. I pick up up a filter and put a additive in it and let yall know what happens.

So I went down to the parts house and got a new inline and canister type filter element. I installed both filters on my machine and after a little priming and cranking it fired right up, but as soon as I pulled back on the throttle it slowly shut down like it ran out of fuel. Ok I left the throttle at idle position and turned it over and it started up at a normal rpm range then slowly died out. No rpm increase as I moved the throttle up to try to keep it running. One more try I moved the throttle to wide open and fired it up. It held itself at wot until I ease on the drive sticks or move the boom or bucket and then the rpms drop severely. The electric lift pump is running when the key is on. Once I got the machine running I did crack all three fuel lines at the injectors just to bleed any possible air out of the lines. Not what else it could be. Im gonna try to find a new o ri g for the electric lift pump where it is mounted to the filter housing and see if that will help. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. If yall need any more info please let me know. Again no smoke, codes, or idiot lights are-on at this time.

Or maybe your fuel cap vent is plugged
sounds like a fuel flow problem, if you can disconnect a line after the lift pump or filter and run the pump for a few minutes to see if there is good , sustained flow. Don't just try it and quit make sure it flows good for several minutes.

Ok fellas. I added a double shot of fuel additive, and put a quart of atf in the tank and fired up at wot. I let it run for about 40 minutes at wot. Then worked it good for another 40 minutes. My power is back and machine is running strong. The only problem that remains is if I back off the throttle hard it will slowy sputter out and die, but if I ease the throttle back it will slow the rpms with some minor fluctuating and down to idle without killing the engine. When I throw the throttle forward it accelerates decently up to about 2500 rpms, which is about what it usually runs at. The tank on the machine is only a couple years old, I wouldn't think the pickup tube would be bad, but I will try to fill it up and see what happens. I will also check the cap on the tank and get back with yall. I appreciate all the help fellas. We gettin closd to having it back right.

Can you disconnect the line coming out of the tank and blow thru it back toward the tank. I had alage in mine and it did something similar. The line from the tank would get plugged with the alage
