Please block it up good with all four wheels up when ajusting so you don't run over yourself or anything elseMy 630 had an E-brake that worked inside the chain case on discs with a sort of mechanical caliper activated down by a handle between the legs. You can also have maladjusted handles. That can be fixed by adjusting the handle stops that are on the side of the hydrostat. Just takes a 9/16" wrench and some patience.
Damn, there is a spot for the handle but, it's not there. What am I gonna need to fix that. I assume someone removed it prior to me getting it. Could the handle for the e brake just have broke off or been taken off? I'll mess with the drive handles as well.My 630 had an E-brake that worked inside the chain case on discs with a sort of mechanical caliper activated down by a handle between the legs. antfarm2 Will do. This gave me a good laugh.Damn, there is a spot for the handle but, it's not there. What am I gonna need to fix that. I assume someone removed it prior to me getting it. Not sure on yours but look on top of the chain case and see if there is a lever thereDamn, there is a spot for the handle but, it's not there. What am I gonna need to fix that. Antfarmer is quite right. There should be a lever. It may be disconnected due to internal failure. Mine was broken inside and jammed up the drives so I just removed it and discarded the entire assemblyNot sure on yours but look on top of the chain case and see if there is a lever there
If you take off the top plate you should be able to see what has been done in there on mine just had to free up the pucksAntfarmer is quite right. There should be a lever. As mentioned already, there should be a pedal between your feet that you tilt forward to lock the brake on.If you take off the top plate you should be able to see what has been done in there on mine just had to free up the pucks
Thanks for all the post. Apparently it has been removed along with the pedal and entire assembly. Any ideas on finding the parts or maybe an alternate way to setup a parking brake of some kind without having to get out?As mentioned already, there should be a pedal between your feet that you tilt forward to lock the brake on.
Is the brake and discs still there? Thanks for all the post. Apparently it has been removed along with the pedal and entire assembly. Any ideas on finding the parts or maybe an alternate way to setup a parking brake of some kind without having to get out?
As far as I can tell neither are there. I don't see the disc anywhere in the chain case. I may have over looked the disc but, I don't believe so.Is the brake and discs still there?
The brake block would be on the bottom of the front and the discs are snap ringed on the main drive gear you are going to have to find one getting scraped out for partsAs far as I can tell neither are there. Would the brake block be below the oil?The brake block would be on the bottom of the front and the discs are snap ringed on the main drive gear you are going to have to find one getting scraped out for parts
I have a 743 and mine is on the bottom side of the front cover pretty sure yours is close to mineWould the brake block be below the oil?
Brake block will actually be attached the the top cover. I do not think it can be removed without removing the hydrostat. It is large and held to the top cover by a few bolts. You should be able to take the front cover off with the chain case fill port and shine a light in there and see it with a mirror.I have a 743 and mine is on the bottom side of the front cover pretty sure yours is close to mine
I think the 630 is similar to the 632 and has direct drive motors with no gear reduction. If it creeps now when idling having the brake working will not solve that. It will just load the pumps and motors till it can move. When the sticks are adjusted for neutral right you can park on a slope and it will not move with the engine off or on. That little creeping actually has the full power of the machine behind it so it should be taken care of first.Brake block will actually be attached the the top cover. Jerry is correct. The creeping is much more serious.I think the 630 is similar to the 632 and has direct drive motors with no gear reduction.
