I believe I have found the problem of my 873 shutting down. Some times this happens after 5 min. of running and then the next time it will last 2 hours...I thought it was the pickup tube in gas tank but I discovered if I rap in the shutdown relay that is cabled into wiring harness it will fire right back up....I have searched for the part online but can only find the shutdown cable..pn# is 04213069. Anybody come across this part being bad before? the relay is not a relay that plugs into fuse block...it is in wiring harness before the shutoff solenoid.

You might want to make sure it's not your fuel lift pump. The Deutz are kind of known for having that problem. Is it running fine then bogs down and runs real rough? If it does, go back and squeeze your primer bulb to see if that fixes the problem. That's how I figured out mine was a lift pump problem.

there is no bogging just completely shuts down....primer bulb is hard and full of fuel.

If I get a chance, I'll check my service manual and see what it says. I haven't had an 873 for several years but I still have the manual.
