I finally got Humpty Dumpty all put back together again and now I am thinking about adding a 1" spacer to all my wheels for more stability. Has anyone done this and noticed an appreciable difference in stability and are there any known negatives to this as well?

I have ran a lot of skid steers with and without spacers. I have never noticed a difference in stability with them on. One thing you have to be careful about is make sure your bucket is wide enough to cover the tires if you add the spacers.

Sorry for the second post but I forgot to address your question about negatives. Possibly having to get a wider bucket would be one. As for wearing the bearings faster, I've never seen that to be the case. What I have seen is some machines have a tendency to break lug nuts if spacers are used and not tightened properly. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I had wondered about the extra leverage on the bearings. And on the spacers i was looking at it mentions them loosening up and needing to be retightened after 5 hours or something and then check them again
