New Holland has apparently changed their hydraulic filter supplier to a Mexican manufacturer. These filters are poorly made in my opinion. They are definitely not the quality of the previous USA made filters. I have had two back to back failures where the part that screws on to the machine has separated from the filter body or can. After the first failure I thought it must be a fluke so I tried another one. Same thing. Apparently these filters can't take the pressure. Never had this problem with NH USA filters. I have installed a Wix filter replacement that did leak a little initially in the gasket area but considerable tightening has stopped that. More tightening than I'm used to on these spin on filters however. The engine compartment is a mess. Everything is coated with oil. 80 dollars worth of filters plus 4+ gallons of oil. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Looking at the schematic of the hydraulic system there is a check valve in the reservoir return set at 110 psi. If this valve is somehow stuck shut there would be no return to the reservoir and the system charge filter, the one that is failing, would be subjected to the full pressure of the pump, rather than check valve's 110 psi. Maybe that's why the filters are coming apart. These filters do have a "burst" rating. Anyone have any ideas? Do check valves ever fail this way? Thanks
