So I was thinking about buying a 453 from an online auction last week. It supposedly had a Drive motor out, but ran otherwise. If I could get it cheap enough I was going to snag it up. The problem was it was on the east coast, and I am in the midwest. I would be needing it shipped. Not really a problem as far as I was concerned. I got a couple shipping qoutes and was wondering how I was going to unload this thing off a semi flatbed. My first thought was to have the local Bobcat dealership recieve it and I would throw them some shop labor to unload it off the semi and load it onto my " little" trailer. Sounds Reasonable right? I call up and speak with someone, explain whats going on and they suggest it wouldnt be a problem, just call back and talk to a service adviser and they will give you a price.
Well, I call back and speak with the servcie adviser. She has NO idea what kind of answer to give. She flat out tells me no, she didnt think she could do it. Thinking maybe she thought I wanted it for free, I assured her I would be glad to pay SHOP LABOR for someone to help me with this. She didt sound sure, and made the comment that she normally had a service work order to bill something like that to. I commented " You will have a work order to bill it to because I am going to pay you to do it". At this point she says she will speak with the service manager about it and he would call me back. Never heard a word from them. By then I had found someone to revieve it( at no charge mind you), but it still bothers me that I have spent several thousand dollars on parts from them and they leave me hanging like that.
In the end, the 453 went for far more than I wanted to spend, but I will remember this when I need something. Im pretty sure I was speaking with the parts manager that "couldnt see it being a problem", so I will probably still buy parts, but you can bet Il NEVER walk into that servcie department. Any dealership guys here? was there more to that than just a lack of caring? I work for an automotive dealership, and if something like that comes up we are almost always willing to help, even without being offered money for doing it, but money sure speeds things up.

They would have all the gear to lift it off and dump it on your truck.
I can see that they really don't have to do you a favour like that, but you would be buying parts off them and you were going to pay them for the time spent..... If it was me, i'd be happy for you to sling me some cash to move dead machine from one truck to another. It could be beer money for the workers.....

Our local bobcat dealer probably would baulk at it but with money could probably be convinced to do it. Our deere dealer would probably do it with out charge. I would just find someone with a loading dock so you can drag it off and then on your trailer. For us we would use the payloader it works good for moving dead skids
