I checked hydrostatic pump part numbers they are different between 751 and 753. although the actual hydro motor part numbers are the same. since the peugeot motor doesn't run or turn over, I checked the rotation of the starter. The peugeot runs same direction as kubota if I were to turn the engine around. That's good news! Thanks for thinking of that. I would think the center of the two halves, where the drive hoses connect, would stay in the same position. I would just take the ends off and switch sides, not actually rotate 180 degrees. That would make more sense to me. Maybe that's right?
Personally i'd remove the end pumps and wear plates, rotate the middle section and replace the wear plates and pumps.
While you are in there, check the plates for wear, if you can feel marks with your finger nail, replace them or get a sheet of glass and wet and dry and sand them out. Any little marks here reduce your drive power.
That sounds about right to me too, fly wheel, bell housing, air filter may be needed and a wiring harness if you decide to go all out.
I got parts off a mate down south with a dealership that did a conversion. I got air box, air hoses, engine harness. They just replaced these things as dealers don't take time to re-wire stuff like that but i'm sure you can.
You will need to do other little things like fuel shut off solenoids. It has a glow timer though, that is a plus. The fuel shut off solenoid you can wire up to your starter so when you are cranking the pull solenoid is engaged, when you are not cranking it is disengaged and the hold wire holds it in place.
I can possibly mash out more details and pictures if you look up my email address in my profile. Gives you an idea of what to expect inside the pump.
