Hello everyone. I have had this 642b for 2 years. Everything worked fine except for a blown fuse if I turn it over too much. But usually it starts right up. Anyway my problem is, it hasn't been started since April. I just tried and it turns over but it doesn't seem to be getting gas. I pulled the gas line off but the unit (sorry not sure of name). By the distributor and there is gas to that point. I shoot some starter fluid in the carb but it won't start. Any ideas? I'm a rookie mechanic. Thanks

Thanks but like I said I'm a rookie. What do I do? Change the plugs?
I would pull clean and regap plugs clean and regap points clean and check plug and coil wires then see if it fires if not check condenser and coil

Hi. Just got in from doing that. Plugs and points were ok. Didn't work. I think it's a carb problem. It's odd it's not flooded from trying to start it

I think if it was fuel the starter fluid would at least make it fart still thinking spark have you tested for it yet?

Thanks. Not sure how to test. Like I said I'm not much of a mechanic. I"ll have to call someone to look at it and learn by watching and pay someone to trouble shoot.

Pull off a spark plug wire and stick your finger in it and have someone try to start it lol

To far for me Texas here but someone might see it
I'd check for a spark too, ether should have given some life.
Pull a plug and rest it on the engine with the lead attached, see if you get blue sparks. If not, your coil may be bad.

Ok. I may have some time in a few days to play with it. Thanks. I still think somthing is not right in the carb from sitting for 7 months
