Hello I am new to the forum, I have a 2003 T1110 Track loader. The engine runs strong however the drive forward & reverse,& turning is at a minimum unless I am using the other joystick for the bucket and arm controls. When I first start the machine it will go forward and reverse as if nothing is wrong and after a few minutes it will just stop. The other day I decided to curl my bucket all the way and hold it in a curled position and the machine went forward and reverse as it should or close to it. Has anyone ever experienced this before? My Hyd filter is brand new, The Hyd fluid is topped off, I don't see any leaks, Any help would be great. Thank you, [email protected]

Don't know that critter but does it have case drain filters?
Im not sure if it has a case drain filter. I know it has the large main HYD filter in the engine compartment That I changed last week. I'm thinking its a piece of dirt or something in a valve or joystick controller maybe??

Do some home work and see if you still have the old filter cut it in half and see if any crud is in there

Does it effect lift and tilt when the power reduces?
The joystick controls, are they linked with cables?
It could be a few things, wrong oil, wear. As the oil warms up, the oil thins out and by-passes the worn parts reducing power.

It seems to lift ok regardless of power, However today it was running perfectly forward and reverse in an open field approx 50 yds back and forth until I used the bucket and then the drive started hesitating again. I will say I thought of this today - I purchased a new battery last week and Ive had to jump start it 3-4 times. Is is possible I have a bad connection somewhere thats causing the electrical system to fade in and out hindering the Hyd system? The joystick control is not cable activated I believe its pressure. Under the boot that protects the joystick there is 4 little balls that when pressed would activate the hyd system.

It could be a short in there keeping it from working right and killing the battery

If it runs ok then the issue seems to happen after you use the lift/tilt/aux i'd suspect something may be sticking?
The strange thing is, generally the two systems don't cause issues with each other. A drive system issue doesn't normally cause issues with the lift/tilt and the other way around. But you never do know, it could be something liking the two.

I am leaning to a short in your joystick

I don't think the joystick is electrical Im pretty sure its mechanical or pressure related. I do have a wire barnes in each joystick but its for the Horn, 2 speed, etc, Ahhh I just thought of something .... I wonder if it could be a short in the 2 speed button ??? But that wouldn't correct itself when using the tilt or bucket??

I guess it is possible that the 2 speed could be the issue, if it tries to go into and out of 2 speed mode.
What about disconnecting the switch and seeing if it works when it can only be in one mode?

I'm making progress.... I took the filter on the side of the pump out. I was told it was a filter however I think its more than a filter. its under the seat all the way forward on the right side if sitting in seat in the hyd, pump. It takes a 1-3/8" wrench to back it out and then have a plug handy as all the HYD. oil starts pouring out. I was told to clean it with brake cleaner and push the plunger in a few times and keep spraying it. While spraying with brake cleaner silver pieces of metal came out so thats probably not the best thing however after cleaning , re assembling, and adding oil it now runs like a charm. forward , reverse, up and down... The question is what is the silver metal and I would think i'll be replacing a pump in the near future?

I'd like to know where the metal came from too. It could be from the pumps, motors or cylinders. It could be normal wear, that's why the filters are there.
If it runs well, i'd not worry too much about it.

Still Going good after the filter cleaning. Now and I should say I have been having starting issues. I replace the battery with a new delco commercial battery, checked all the connection and it still turns over very hard. I am thinking I have a worn starter. The Dealer wants $550.00 for a starter and Ebay wants $125-$300 depending on the seller. The issue is when I put the part number JCB gave me # 714/40159 I can't get a definite from any of the sellers that it fits that model even though they list it as fitting. It looks like Lucas make a starter and 1 other company. Does anyone have any luck with starters and manufacturer part numbers? Thanks, Billy
