I have a bobcat 530 and the hydraulic fluid leaks somehow into the bottom? What causes this to happen and what should I replace?
Leaking into the bottom, do you mean the chain case? With a machine the age of yours, it could be a multitude of things. Like antfarmer says, you will need to clean up the mess in order to see where it is coming from. I typically use engine degreaser to soak it down, and then blast it clean with a pressure washer connected to the hot water tap. I believe that your machine predates the tilting cab design, so you will have to pull the seat out to get to the area that your after. Once it's clean, run the engine with the seat out. You should be able to find the source of your leak. Good luck - SR
It leaks internally, the chain case fills up and I have to drain it out of the front drain plugLeaking into the bottom, do you mean the chain case?
There are seals that hold the fluid in the motor, if they go bad it can pump into the chain case.

Keep it clean clean clean and don't let anything get in the hoses on my 743 there was a quad ring in there that I replaced that was goneUnbolt the drive motors from both sides you will have to buy the seals you can make a tool out of pvc to set the seals
On mine had to replace the oring for the drive motors tooKeep it clean clean clean and don't let anything get in the hoses on my 743 there was a quad ring in there that I replaced that was gone
I don't know if yours has a seal in the motor on the reduction box.On mine had to replace the oring for the drive motors too
If I unbolt the motors they will slide off the sprockets? Or do I have to take the chains off? I opened up the top and I see two sprockets with the brake disc's on both sides. Do the brake disc's need to come off too?I don't know if yours has a seal in the motor on the reduction box.
Either way, the drive motors need unbolting from the chain case. Hopefully they will simply slide out. With them out, if the seal is not in the drive motor, there will be a seal on the chain case around the shaft the drive motor spline slides into. Drill a hole and screw in a self tapping screw and use pliers to pull it out.
Just take the hoses off then unbolt the motors will slide right out will be fluid loss think aheadIf I unbolt the motors they will slide off the sprockets? Or do I have to take the chains off? i'm ready to unbolt the motors but the clutch disc's are at the end of the motor, do i need to wrench the nut off on the end?I don't know if yours has a seal in the motor on the reduction box.
