I am looking into buying a skid steer. The machine or deal i am looking into is unique and quite awesome because it comes with 14 different attachments. we have negotiated pretty well but we are at odds over the value of the machine. it is a Turbo, with High Flow. it has ac/heat and cab door is the upgraded version of lexan becacause one of the attachments is the mulching head. It was well kept, oil changed and services and he kept excellent records. recently replaced the sprockets, pins and one of the drive motors. machine has 4000 hrs on it. i am seeing maching is like $25,000 value and thats considerate. he is around $40k i am no expert in this market am i the crazy one or is he?

Are you talking $25,000 for just the machine or the entire package?
If it is the package, it may really depend on they types /conditions of the attachments. You mentioned a mulching head - that is not a cheap attatchment. What are some of the others?
Are all of the attachments ones that you would use or are you planning to sell some of them to recoup part of you investment?
Personally, I easily have more value tied up in my attachments than what my machine is valued at.
Cheers - SR

He is adding up all the attachments too. The proce may be right with them, but the issue is, would you have a use for them all?

no just the machine! the total package is around $70K includes mulching head, tree shear, tree terminator mower, hydrauilic disc, bobcat tiller, stump grinder, auger and atachments, trenching machine, pallet forks, buckets, and more i haven't completely identified. my research has shown we are in agreement on the implements most only used a handful of times. But i am hung up over the machine itself. THat as my questionon the machine. It is pretty difficult to asses 14 implements at one time but overall they are A+ shape. but he machine was the real valuable. so $40K of this $70K price is the machine. but i can't find where this machine itself is over $25K

Sounds to be a very option out unit and if it has the full forestry package, that is spendy in its own right. 4,000 hours are not terribly high so if the machine is in half way good shape, it is a mid to high 30,000 unit. A machine you discribe for $25,000 would worry me.
