I'm looking to replace the hyd hoses that run to/from the oil cooler on an 1840. They have cracks visible where they flex every time the rear compt door is opened. I know I'll lose a little fluid gettine the old hose off and the new on. I'm going to wind up with air in the lines when I'm done, is this going to be a concern on the drive motors and if so how do you bleed the system?

Just thought I would pass this on. Managed to talk to a mechanic at the place where we had purchased this 1840. The system is self bleeding, just hook up the hoses refill hydraulic fluid let it run at idle for several minutes and it will bleed itself. One note of caution. When installing these hoses make sure there is a slight "twist" in the proper direction so that as the rear compartment door closes the hose does not kink. He could not shed any light on the actual hose construction. He didn't know if the actual hose was a braided metal, or of a braided cloth construction with the rubber just a protective covering.

They all should self bleed, it can just take time to do.
I believe all OEM hoses are braided metal covered with rubber, i don't think cloth ones are standard equipment for anyone.
Glad you got it all fixed.
