So my machine has been overheating off and on and i would hear a squealing noise and my airflow out the side would be next to nothing so i now have the cab raised and ive felt the fan belt that connects to the gearbox is very loose and im not sure if it is the tensioner or if i need a new belt im wondering what i should do now to tighten the belt

Do i need to replace the tensioner how do i tel if i need a new tensioner or belt
The tensioner gets tight on its piviot bolt. Pull it off and inspected. You maybe able to clean and lube it up. Look at the pulley for wear. Overtime the pulley will wear to one side as the tensioner arm wears at the piviot point. The arm isn't sold as an assembly, you have to piece it out. A parts guy worth a damn should know what you need and what you can reuse.

So if I Lube it up when i put it back in it should tighten the belt up? and if i still have problems should i just get a new tensioner and pulley? its a low hour machine (1600 hrs) So Im thinking the Pulley would be ok? But theres no chance that I just need a new belt and the tensioner is all the way extended? or how does this work. ive only had a brief look at it and it looks like there is an arm ataching the puller to a spring, so what part of the assembly is stuck or needs lubrication?

It works just like a serp belt tensioner on a new car. There is no adjustment, the spring does the work. The belt is a normal v belt, judge its condition just like any other belt. The tensioner went tight from sitting.

Don't rule out the blower is locking up. Ensure the gear oil level is correct.
With the belt off, make sure the bearings feel smooth.
The tensioners do fail as well, the springs can break too so there is no tension on the belt to stop it slipping.

Its possible the belt could be that worn. The bolt that holds the pulley to the arm is long enough that when the tensioner is far enough back it will hit the bell housing basically acting as a stop. Its also possible it has the wrong fan belt on. With all the serial number breaks for a 753, there are about six different belts.

Ok so I had a look today and I loosened the arm and the main bolt where the spring is and yeah it was definetly rusted stuck because i soaked it in wd40 and then loosened the main bolt off a bit and it snaped tight. i lubed it more then tightened everything and put belt on now tensioner is moving properly and no wierd slipping noise and tons of airflow out the side vents. Seems to be running great. Dont think that the blower is locking up

The tensioner being tight was your problem. The fan gear box is just a right angle drive, if it locked up, it would be done for. Flip the cab, pull the pipe plug out of the fan drive. Make sure the drive is full of 80w90 to the bottom of the fill hole.
