There is a traction lock override button on the left hand instrument panel of my Bobcat 763, which is supposed to allow use of the steering levers to move the loader forward and backwards. I cannot get this button to unlock the traction drive. As always, I am seated in the Bobcat, with the Seat Bar down. Any suggestions?

The easiest thing to check first is the traction lock relay. Its located in the fuse box between your legs as your seated in the machine. Try swapping the traction lock relay with a relay marked front or rear lights. This will allow you to test out your relay by seeing if the lights turn on.

I have a SYSTEM ACTIVATED light, a SEAT BAR light, a VALVE LIGHT, a TRACTION light, and a POWER LIGHT on my BICS panel. All lights are on, not blinking, except the TRACTION light. It is off. I discovered yesterday if I raised the seat bar, I could move the Bobcat, however I could not control the lift or tilt. When I lowered the seat bar, I could control the lift and tilt, but the traction would lock again, and I could not move the Bobcat.

Sounds like the traction lock solenoid is functional or you wouldn't be able to move it anytime.
Maybe the override button switch has gone bad. You could pull the panel and use a meter to check it.

Traction lock override will release the brake, but not the lift and tilt functions with the seat bar up. This is mainly for the backhoe attachment that you sit on. From the attachment, to can reach behind you, push the button and move the machine without having to get in it. If I remember correctly, the traction over ride and push to operate buttons are separate on in F series. You need to push the green button, not yellow. I will look at a 763 tomorrow to see if I'm remembering correctly.

OK I revise my last post, the button is one in the same. I'm going to say bad BICS module.

Did you ever find a solution? I have a 753 I just bought that has the exact same issue. The only way to get it to move is to have the bar up. I disconnected the seat sensor (actually lost the little magnets when trying to clean) but it does the exact same thing as before. Any help or ideas (from anyone) is appreciated.

Personally I'd try a different BICS module.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner! The park brake is on. Either the pedal is pushed on or the switch is shorted. Guaranted to be the problem.
about 15 years ago or so a hired 763 that was doing some grading for me did the same thing. It started fine but we just couldn't the darn thing to un-lock. I checked out the electrical circuits and each circuit was just fine, including the lock. Hauled it down to the dealer, some 70 miles away and he replaced the battery. Duh...... So, make sure you battery is putting out enough amps to kick the lock. The battery showed enough voltage but for some reason just didn't have the amps to kick the lock solenoid, even with the alternator running and charging. Strangest thing I've ever seen.

thought I'd mention, enjoyed doing the electrical diagnosis on that 763 so much that I bought a 753 for doing ranch work. I like them a lot better than a tractor. Just wish the darn thing had a radio in it.
