Remove ALL solenoid valves

After using a 1947 Ford 8n with zero electronics and cussing at my high tech Bobcat as I went by it, broke down as usual, I'm ready to remove the hydraulic pump and every single complicating valve on this thing. My question is, if I remove the traction brake sets completely from within the chain case and all the solenoid valves in the system, will it operate with standard everyday mechanical spool valves or do the hydrostatic dirve motors NEED this high tech gadgetry? My budget is about $3k which is well within an initial search of surplus center parts. I basically want to retain the motor, the lift/tilt arms, and the drive motors, cost aside, can it be done? It's this, or get it running and make it someone elses problem which is NOT my style. I like skid steers, but a broke down machine is scrap metal and I refuse to bring anything to a dealer BC they made it need one. all over a traction lock system malfunction.

I can't advise to do any of this......
With the brake, you can hook up a switch to make it so you can actually park so it won't move. The other solenoids are there to keep you safe.
Just what is acting up causing issues?
Depending on the model machine, they play no part in the drive system. The hand control machines do though.

The problem is BICS shows a traction lock short to ground. I have replaced the solenoid on the left hand side of an aluminum square block with 2 solenoid a on the bottom of it. I'm no electrician and can't effectively figure it out. A no-fault of bobcat kept blowing BICS fuses and since resolved I have lift arm movement but now BICS flashes 6 times and won't unlock the wheels. When I pull the 30-amp fuse near the block I get 1 flash from BICS, making me think it's between the fuse and the new solenoid.

It could be a pinched wire along the way. Check all mounting points or brackets for worn insulation.
Even without the solenoids, the error will come up on the screen.

I gotta say this, and am not joking... with all the problems I have had with the spool seals on my 743 with mechanical valves, I have contemplated replacing that Control Valve assembly with solenoids! (Yes, I understand that would require modulating "solenoids", not just simple on-off for the lift and tilt)

Billrbg - I understand your frustration, access is not pretty but when the seals are replaced, they are generally trouble free for quite some time.
