Greetings All: Have an old Gehl 2500 skidsteer. Recently it has occasionally started jerking and shaking when you go forward with the t control. It shakes pretty bad and kinda makes grinding noise, then will stop if I go back to netural position. It does this without notice and was wondering what might be causing this? Will low hydro fluid or air in lines cause this shaking and bucking? I did add hydro fluid a while back and was wondering if it might need more to stop this from happening?, or need to bleed air from lines? Very hard to read hydro fluid dipstick and very hard to fill due to small opening on top where dip stick stick comes unscrews from. BTW: Was using loader today and guess what? Cylinder on left side that lifts bucket arms blew the seal and sprayed me good with hydro fluid. Murphys Law!!! Any help with the bucking is greatly appreciated. Look forward to your replies. I don't like the grinding sound you mention, does it sould like it's coming from the chaincase or pump/motors? just wondering if it could be chains/sprockets.

Check the linkage from the t control to the swash plate on the piston pump, the rod ends may be worn causing it to jerk.
