I need some help. I can't figure out how to pull the motor carrier out in one piece, without removing a ton of hydraulic tubing. Can I remove the motor carrier seal while it is in the machine. If so how? I've read to drill a hole and use a slide hammer, but I am skeptical. Please advise. Thank u

Not sure I have a 743 are you talking about the seal between the motor and the gear reduction box that keep the hydro oil out of the chaincase

Drilling a 1/8" hole and using a slide hammer is the normal procedure.

Thanks OM that is real close to mine how I got mine out was to drill two little holes in the seal (don't go to far) then put two screws in a strip of wood then put a block of wood in the center and tightend the screws came right out to put it back in I made a tool from a pvc coulpling with a theaded end and put the square plug in it to hit with a hammer worked like a charm and under five bucks also on mine under the seal was a big metal washer and a quad ring under it that was GONE so I replaced it

You guys are good. Thank you. I was told there is a clip under the seal, that if I can remove the seal and the clip then I can take the gears out of the motor carrier and out of the machine. I already have the chains off, in the chain case. I just can't get the motor carrier out whole. Any thoughts?

There were several different designs of the motor carrier on the 753 so to better answer your question I will need the first 7 digits of the machine serial number. You can also go to the online Bobcat parts catalogs and see the parts breakdown for your serial number.

Thanks. I will check out that website. All this started when the chain case got water in it. Nearly all the bearings are bad or completely gone. No major damage has occurred that I have found yet. Besides the bearings and chains, is there anything else I should look for? Serial number 5158440xx.

I looked at the service manual for your serial number and it says to remove the carrier assembly to service the bearings because you need to use a hydraulic press to get the shaft out after removing the snap ring. Also I don't think there's enough space in there to push the shaft out while the assembly is on the machine.
The tube lines you mentioned go to the lift arm bypass and the traction lock valves and they have to be removed to take the carrier assembly off. If you have the lift arms up to work in this area make sure you have the lift arm support in place or the arms will drop when you loosen the lines on the bypass valve.

I have removed my carrier seals with a screw and pliers, i do like the idea of the piece of wood to use as a puller though!
Ensure you give it a good clean after, you don't want any metal shavings getting into the bearings.
