Bobcat 310

Hi everyone......purchased a old 310 Bobcat and looking to resolve a problem I am having with the unit. The unit moves forward and back fine but turning seems very unresponsive. Turning tight takes me moving arms fully in opposite directions.....left is easier than right side. Think that is not how its supposed to be......so wondering if anyone has suggestions as to what maybe the issue. I did notice the tires on the right side at 10.5" wide and the ones on the left side are 8.5".....not sure if that is causing or adding to the problem?? Thanks in advance! BTW.....noticed that my Bobcat does not have a filter asy for the oil.......not sure if that is still available??

Your 310 uses a clutch drive system. They must be adjusted properly to have good response. Adjustment can be done with ordinary hand tools, but can be a pain the first time as they are often so far out of adjustment. There should be a sticker on the side of the chain case(behind the tires) that give instructions on how to adjust them.
Your machine has a Kohler k341 engine, and it does not have a engine oil filter, and no way to install one. It does have a hydraulic filter though.

The tires should be matched all the way around, but I think your main problem is clutch adjustment.

Thanks for the reply HotRod I checked the service manual that I bought but it really does not explain the adjustment procedure. BTW.......Mine looks like the hydraulic filter assembly was removed and I have been investigating on how to install one. Figure it should be there .... and although the last owners removed it I would like to know the oil is filtered.

I only have a printed manual or I would post it. On mine, its in section 3, page 2 if yours is the same. Mine doesnt give you much, buts its enough to get started. Mine were so far out, I wound up pulling the chain case cover off and see what was going on. Found out I was adjusting the wrong direction. Its alot easier to see how the clutch system works and properly adjust it if you can "see" whats going on. Its also a good time to adjust all the chains and inspect the chain case while your there.
