Hello I am from Wisconsin and run a couple of organic farms as well as some rentals. I have never had a skid steer up until now. Last week I found a "to good to be true" deal on a Bobcat 720. Now I am beginning to wonder.... I purchased the unit very cheap however it is currently not running. This unit I think had originally shipped from the factory with a Wisconsin vh4d? engine that was 30hp????? The gentleman that I purchased it from was a landscape guy and blew the original engine. We went then and lengthened the engine compartment and installed a Nissan 22 diesel 4 cyl. He said that he had a plate made for the engine and attached it to the hyd pump. however now when I turn it over the whole thing vibrates like the engine and the pump are not balanced. Would a love-joy connector help? I also can purchase a 26 HP Kohler 26 Hp engine out of a 500 series Bobcat skid steer. I do not need much power but would the Kohler be plug and play? if anyone has some advice such as specs or how too or engines that may work I would be very appreciative. thanks Van123123

Vibration could be from the engine/pump not lining up correctly or even the U-joints going bad. Ensure they are free to move and smooth.
The other thing is the brake, if it's engaged and the steering is not in neutral it can try and move causing vibrations

I'm in the same boat you are. I found a M700 with no engine. I got lucky and found a Wisconsin VH4D to stick in mine. Its going to take a little work but in the end I'll have a nice little bobcat to play with

All i had to do to mine was open the center hole in the stock bobcat flywheel to fit over the toyota crank. They both had the same bolt pattern to bolt together. With that fitting everything was square.mine was a 542b. The extra weight of the engine makes the bobcat lift the front tires off the ground and sit there. When i made the engine plate it made it so i can run the stock starter. It was pretty easy ,just took time. Thanks
