I have and 01' Ls 190 that locked me out of the boom hydraulics. About 3 hours before using it I washed the machine. Once at the job site it ran for 15 min fine then locked me out of the hydraulics. It was still starting in run mode at that time but I switched the service switch on and now it will not start in run mode. All the lights go out except the glow plug light and the beeper comes on like it should but it just cranks and cranks. Switch it back to service and it starts just fine everytime. In other posts I have read about diode problems but not able to find it on my machine. I think I have checked all the obvious stuff, like battery cables, fuses, grounds, switches (door, seat and seatbelt) and what wires we were able to get to. Even took left side cover off and looked in that box over there. Any Ideas???

The LS machines used two different instrument panels over the years. If your instrument panel has a bar gauge for the fuel with black bars you have a later machine. If it has green bars you have an earlier model. On the later models the auxillary hydraulics control handle must be in the neutral position for the engine to start. It will crank but it will not start. The later machines have the diodes also. On the earlier models I would check the 5A fuse again in the cab fuse panel. If you did not use some kind of tester on the fuses you may not be able to see if the fuse is bad. I have seen fuses that look good but are not.

Thanks mike, the fuel bars are green. I just double checked the 5amp fuse with an ohm meter and it is good. I'm leaning toward bare wire that I got wet when I washed it, but no luck finding. But on the other hand starting in service mode throws me for a loop. My machine being an older one doesn't have diodes correct? If it does I don't know what I'm looking for I guess. Any other ideas?

Do you have power to the 5 amp fuse? If you have power there, then there are only two components that are used in the run position that are not used in the service position. They are the orange wire from the 5 amp fuse holder to the start interlock relay and the start interlock relay. The start interlock relay is the large relay in the engine fuse compartment. From the start interlock relay to the fuel shut off solenoid all the components are used in either run or service position. No diodes in yours at least in the starting and run positions.

Ty!!! Had power to one side but not through the fuse. Cleaned the fuse ends and it fired with hydraulic working! Corrosion in just the right spot wasn't letting it have decent contact. Thanks again!
