I am looking at a Davis D100 like this one http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?121025/B2893/1 Does anyone have any opinions on them? I have one that I am looking to pick up. It hasn't been run in a few years but the price is hard to beat. I have already sourced a manual for it. I have a 763 for reference. Thanks for any and all input. Cheers, Barnaby

I have a d100 and so do several others here. For my use it is fine, you can convert it from 4 lever to 2 but I have not done that yet. You will have to make upper supports for it but that's no big deal.
If the swing is too fast take the hose off the valve bank and there are slowdown orifices in there. You can make a smaller one to slow it down. I think I have one about .090 in there now. You could also get a adjustable flow valve to put in line.
How much is it ? I paid 1400 5 years ago and have put maybe 200 in cylinder repairs since. They are much faster than a shovel. I had mine on a 632 at first so your 763 should be fine.

When you get around to mounting it look in the media section here, there are a few different pictures of mounting ideas.

Thanks again Jerry! I went ahead and picked it up. I got it for $600. Needs a pressure wash and likely some new hoses if not some cylinder work. Very pleased with it for what I paid. I will check out the media section for attachment options. Currently I don't have "pins" for the current connection method. Thanks again, Barnaby

Ughh.. so it turns out that it's attachment point width is around an inch too narrow for my 763. It looks like someone bread and butter welded the attachment together with angle iron. I think I will probably remove it all and get a blank plate and fab up everything at once including my "anchor" points. As always, any advice is much appreciated. Cheers, Barnaby

When I put mine on the 632 I used heavy angle iron on the bobcat and two 3 pt hitch upper links from there to the backhoe. If the holes for the bob tach pins line up on the backhoe is it just the top width that is wrong?
$600 is dirt cheap for that thing I think. At that price even if it needs a few seals it wont be bad.
There are quite a few past posts here on these backhoes including resealing the cylinders. I just take mine to the shop in town and let them figure it out.

Barnaby, I did what you are thinking about. I cut off everything that the previous owner had put on it and then bought a blank quick attach plate off of eBay. Then I copied the mount system for a Bobcat backhoe (905 as I recall but I am not at home to check). The hitch couplers I found at NAPA auto parts. There are some pictures of mine in the media section and as one of the other guys mentioned, quite a few ideas from others who have done it. The D-100 is a nice size for the 742B and I have done quit a few projects with it. Good luck, John

davis d100 is very very similar to the bobcat 907 backhoe attachment that i have. i think they even take the same bucket. there is no linkage, the piston connects right to the bucket. hard to find different sizes i am going to pick up a 12" tomorrow for 150. not bad.

Barnaby, you will notice in the manual there are a couple relief valves in the valve body. If I remember one is for the dipper stick and another for the bucket. They are supposed to be preset but can be adjusted. Mine had backed off over the years and needed adjusting. They are set to 3000 I believe.

here is the 12" bucket i bought today next to my backhoe. what a great deal for 150 just needs 2 teeth and a coat of paint, doesn't even look like it was used. https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/t1.0-9/1511386_10154073337150713_3535454511772597365_n.jpg this would also fit a davis/case d100

i need 2 teeth, assumed they were pin on but the holes are welded solid, does that mean it is a crimp on?

i am new to forum, I just bought a Case/Davis D100A 3 point /Pto , I was wondering if it could be made to a quick connect and run on my Kioti D3510 loader, I will try to explain take bucket off, put backhoe where bucket attaches? This old woman doesn't weld. Would it be too much torue for tractor. Should I go ahead and have subframe built instead and use pto? I also have a Satoh Beaver 3 will backhoe work on this tractor i think it is about 18 to 20 hp,if it will i will use backhoe on this tractor. thanks in advance, newby old woman Sbrown

This D100A has a PTO Pump can Is it possible To use the 2 hydraulic hoses attaching to PTO pump to connect to loader hoses on tractor?
I don't think it would work out well on the loader in place of the bucket. On a skidsteer they have a second anchor point to the frame as the quick attach plate is not rigid enough. Probably best to mount it on the rear.
The hoses that go to the pto pump now could be attached to the tractors hyd outlets instead.

I don't think you would be happy with it attached on the loader as you have to move the machine quite often with these small backhoes.
